Who We Are
This charity is dedicated to my mother Julie Morris’ memory. She had a deep love of music and children as well as a mission to mentor on healthy living and good choices. In her honor this foundation offers free music lessons to all in need, gifts instruments to those that cannot afford one, and provides free concerts at universities to promote substance free living.
Who We Serve
JMF locates our music lessons at housing authorities, boys & girls clubs, senior communities, and juvenile detention centers to best serve the underserved. Our lessons include traditional classroom, creative time, and practice session to facilitate retention. All instruments are provided to ensure students don't get discouraged and have ample opportunities to succeed.
Programs
JMF functions during the school year but understands how much knowledge can be lost over a summer break. This is where our instrument gift program fills the gap. For students that show initiative and interest in music we make sure that they do not go into summer without a way to continue their learning.
JMF believes in substance free living and helping at risk groups make good choices. This is why we hold a free, open to the public, all ages concert on university campuses every year to keep the college students safe and on school property but also allow a safe place for kids and people struggling with sobriety to be able to enjoy music as well.
